Description

Claims against counties; timing of decision; appeals.  Provides that when a claim is made against a county, the clerk of the county's governing body shall notify the claimant of the date that the claim will be considered. The bill also provides that court action on a claim is not barred if the governing body fails to act on a claim within 90 days of the date it was received. The bill further sets the amount of the bond for appeals of a claim that has been disallowed by the governing body at $25. This bill is a recommendation of the Boyd-Graves Conference.   View Full Text »
