Description
Business, professional, and occupational license (BPOL) tax; limits on rates and imposition. Prohibits any locality from (i) imposing the BPOL tax if the locality did not impose it as of January 1, 2010, and (ii) increasing the BPOL tax rates after January 1, 2010. Amends § 58.1-3703 (“Counties, cities and towns may impose local license taxes and fees; limitation of authority.”), § 58.1-3706 (“Limitation on rate of license taxes.”), of the Code of Virginia.
