Description

Common Interest Community Board; Virginia Condominium Act; Virginia Real Estate Time-Share Act; common interest communities.  Authorizes the Common Interest Community Board to terminate inactive condominium or time-share registrations. In addition, the bill clarifies the authority of the Common Interest Community Ombudsman to assist individual members of common interest communities regarding rights and processes available under applicable laws and regulations. The bill also makes technical amendments. Amends § 54.1-2349 (“Powers and duties of the Board.”), § 55-394.1 (“Annual report; amendments; termination of registration.”), § 55-504.1 (“Annual report by associations.”), § 55-516.1 (“Annual report by association.”), § 55-528 (“Definitions.”), § 55-530 (“Powers of the Board; Common interest community ombudsman; complaints.”), § 55-79.93 (“Annual report by declarant; termination of registration.”), § 55-79.93:1 (“Annual report by unit owners\u2019 association.”), of the Code of Virginia.
