Comments
Equality Virginia supports enumerated non-discrimination policies that are fully inclusive of sexual orientation, gender identity and expression.
This bill doesn't even include sexual orientation. It basically leaves the LGBT community hanging and doesn't do anything, where is the prohibition of discrimination that is based on sexual orientation?
Vague...why do they just not say..sexual orientation and gender identity? Is this the new way of getting orientation and gender identity included..?? If it works...go for it! I doubt it will get off the ground..."or any other reason.." can cover a lot of other areas. Don't hold your breath on this.
Virginia ACLU strongly supports SB 701 which is an inclusive bill that prohibits discrimination against all LGBT public employees. It is monitoring this bill that does not include explicit protections against discrimination based on gender identity and expression.
