Michael's Blog: Alexandria?s Del Ray Neighborhood Kicks off Year Long Cenntenial Celebration with Pot Luck at Historic Firehouse
May 7, 2008
Home made desserts, stick to the rib casseroles, and hoppin john (that?s Southern talk for rice and blackeyed peas) were just some of the offerings at the Town of Potomac?s New Year?s Day Pot Luck. The Town of Potomac - the predecessor to our modern day Del Ray - has kicked off a year long series of events to celebrate the town?s 100 birthday and New Year?s Day was just the beginning. Among others in the crowd last night were current school board member Frank Wilson, whose term expires in December 2008 and who is not seeking reelection. Another incumbent school board member, Libby Garvey, IS seeking reelection...
skepticalobservor.blogspot.com: Paul Nichols --- Your Union-Label Delegate
March 24, 2008
Just managed to notice this: the RINO's favorite candidate, Delegate Paul Nichols (D-51st) voted in favor of Delegate Adam Ebbin's (D-Lavender) bill to repeal Virginia's ban on public employee monopoly bargaining. Ironically, it would have repealed a law sponsored by former Delegate David Brickley (D-51st), Nichols' predecessor in the district. Though Brickley is a Democrat, and was at one time a union lawyer (for the PWEA, the National Education Association's County affiliate), even he was not ...
