MASON CONSERVATIVE: A Retraction

May 21, 2008
Never let it be said that a blogger isn't above retracting a post.  Concerning my post on the 11th District Convention, I have been contacted and assured by Jim Parmalee that any statement he made concerning HB3202 vis-a-vie Jay O'Brien was not what I thought it was.  Parmalee has assured me that he did not direct any comments towards O'Brien. Call it a case of misplaced anger on my part.  The entire episode surrounded a resolution condeming HB3202, and too me there is no difference between con...

MASON CONSERVATIVE: 11th District Convention

May 18, 2008
Since this was my first experience with a convention, I wanted to file my thoughts away for a moment. I was stuck outside doing registration for most of the opening parts but I did catch some of Keith Fimian's speech, and it was good. Jim Gilmore arrived and made his way around talking up the crowd -- but I have to say...

April 26, 2008
Did Jeff Frederick cost us legislative seats in Prince William County? Posted by MAXIMUS Republican State Senator Jay O'Brien had several precincts in Prince William County. O'Brien underperformed in several of these Prince William precincts when compared to previous election cycles. Was Jeff Frederick too busy with other things to help O'Brien this year? Prince William County is Jeff Frederick's home county and he couldn't deliver the vote in his home county to keep the Senate Seat in GOP ...

Raising Kaine The Voice of Progressive Virginia : Corey Stewart Will Not Run for LG

March 26, 2008
Not that this is a big surprise or anything, but with Bill Bolling's announcement yesterday that he will seek re-election as lieutenant governor next year, "Prince William Board of County Supervisors Chairman Corey A. Stewart (R-At Large) said that he will not run." "I was surprised. I had no idea it was coming," Stewart said of Bolling's announcement. "I really want to be lieutenant governor, but this is the strongest ticket. It's the best thing for the party." Whether it's the "best thing"...
