Celebrating the life of Pamela S. Manas.
Patron-- Rust

WHEREAS, Pamela S. Manas of Sterling Park, well-known and widely respected in the Sterling Park and Loudoun County communities for her tireless devotion to community service, died on October 11, 2005; and

WHEREAS, a resident of Sterling Park for more than 30 years, Pamela Manas established a reputation for selfless service to others, volunteering her time in support of numerous worthy causes and organizations; and

WHEREAS, a substitute teacher in the Loudoun County Public Schools for more than 10 years, Pamela Manas was a face painter at the Sterling Classic Car Show for 15 years, raising funds for "Jerry's Kids," who have muscular dystrophy; and

WHEREAS, Pamela Manas was a member of the Dulles Airport Rotary Club and was honored as a Paul Harris Fellow, Rotary's highest honor; and

WHEREAS, Pamela Manas was active with the Sterling Park Jaycees and was the fundraising chairperson for the Loudoun Association for Retarded Citizens, which she also served as a member of the board of directors; and

WHEREAS, in honor of her outstanding fundraising work with the Loudoun Association for Retarded Citizens, Pamela Manas was named Loudoun County Citizen of the Week in 1998; and

WHEREAS, for nearly 33 years, Pamela Manas devoted her time, energy, and considerable talents to making Sterling Park and Loudoun County better places in which to live; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly hereby note with great sadness the loss of an exceptional citizen of Sterling Park, Pamela S. Manas; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of Pamela S. Manas as an expression of the respect in which her memory is held by the members of the General Assembly.
