Description

Election procedures; voting equipment requirements. Requires vendors seeking State Board of Elections certification of direct recording electronic (DRE) devices to (i) have current federal certification and (ii) equip them to produce a paper record of each vote that can be verified by the voter. Provides that the voter verified paper record takes precedence in a recount. Requires that all DREs produce a voter-verifiable paper record. The bill takes effect January 1, 2009. Read the Bill »
