Description

Therapeutic incarceration; creation of incarceration program for defendants who are substance abusers. Creates a Therapeutic Incarceration Program to which the court can confine a defendant sentenced for three or more years who needs substance abuse treatment. The program will be at least 18 months in duration, and upon successful completion of the program the court shall order supervised probation. The bill provides for withdrawal from and re-entry into the program. The Department of Corrections is required to evaluate the program after one year of operation. Read the Bill »
