A BILL to convey a parcel of real property to Southampton County.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1.  § 1. That the Board of Corrections is hereby authorized to convey without consideration to the County of Southampton approximately 47 acres of property lying north of Rivers Mill Road, Route 612, in the Dreweryville District known as the Southampton County Jail Farm, formerly known as Capron Correctional Field Unit #20, which is part of a 1,824 acre parcel owned by the Commonwealth of Virginia as recorded on a 1937 plat in the land records of the Circuit Court Clerk for Southampton County at Deed Book 0078, Page 5. Such property is for the use of the Office of the Sheriff of Southampton County as a work release center and for other jail and public safety purposes.

§ 2. Such conveyance shall be made in a form approved by the Attorney General. The appropriate officials of the Commonwealth are hereby authorized to prepare, execute, and deliver such deed and other documents as may be necessary to accomplish the conveyance.
