Comments
Acca Shriners in Central VA support almost 400 children in this area who are being provided care without cost to families, insurance companies or government by Shriners Hospitals for Children. We provide transportation and travel expenses, also without cost for children in families that need that assistance. Acca has two vans that provide transportation to families and children. They carry fewer than 16 passengers. All of the drivers are Shriner volunteers and Acca has policy to require drivers record checks and health statements. There are three other Shrine Centers in Virginia and they all operate similar vans. If the Bill is enacted it will impose an undo and unecessary hardship. If we can't keep drivers we'll be far less able to provide necessary transportatin for the children and their families. I speak as one Shriner. I have heard from many others who share this concern.
