My Lord, what will this man think of next? We're criminalizing working as a carpet installer or warehouseman?
You managed to beat me to it Waldo! I guess he's running low on business over at Albo & Oblon LLP.
If this passes, I'm totally getting into the box cutter holster business.
Pencils. Don't forget about the sharp pencils. But the pocket protector business already is flooded.
This stems from a recent decision where they found that box cutters were not concealed weapons in schools. A razor blade unsheathed is a concealed weapon but a boxcutter is not. Kids are figuring this out.
Then schools should pass rules prohibiting kids from carrying them. We cannot treat every citizen of the state like a school child.
If I'm not mistaken, it's legal for a student to have a knife with up a three inch blade on it.
Oppose. Overly broad, would criminalize carrying a boxcutter in your pocket.
What will this clown that gave us the abusive drivers fees, do next to drum up clients for his legal practice ? Time you vote this guy out ! He is a very dangerous man that hates freedom.
Dave Albo tells me he withdrew this bill 'a long time ago'. But it looks like it's still in committee. Has it been withdrawn? When?
Albo is at it again. This would be a great way to generate revenue. Arrest every roofer as he's climbing up or down his ladder, and every carpet layer working on a site. It would be like shooting fish in a barrel. If the cop asks a subject if he has any weapons, most people would say no out of ignorance and could be charged with making a false statement. Lots of revenue for the state, not to mention Albo's law firm!!!
Is there an actual definition of what a "Box Cutter" is? Does that include snap off utility knifes? Fixed non retractable utility knifes? Those flat 2 piece ones that have take a single edge hard-spine blade that can be turned aroudn and used as a scraper?
There are some things on there that should actually be removed.
Dale Albo should recieve a fine for haveing pack of Bic shavers in his grocery bag. This bill was a waste of the ink and paper it was written on. Next would be my finger nail clippers...
