James Stanley writes:

I am fully aware of the situation that got Mr, Ingram to sponsor this bill. Sheriff Anderson of Hopewell has a deputy that wants to play cop and was issued a gray dodge patrol vehicle. Once the law was presented to the Sheriff, rather than comply he had rather get the law changed.

Shelia Watson writes:

Sheriff Anderson has put a court room secruity deputy on the 295 interstate patroling for speeders to write tickets for Hopewell in a look-a-like State Trooper car blue and grey. Va. code states brown or white, so he had Riley Ingram to put the bill in so they can keep the car that color. He is also not law enforcement certified.

Janice B. Denton writes:

I agree with James Stanley - it doesn't make sense to change the law for one (1) vehicle. I believe our lawmakers have a lot more serious issues to deal with. Let the sheriff correct the mistake!

Buddy writes:

Unbelievable. Just goes to show how much power and influence one sheriff can have. Go repaint your car, Sheriff Anderson.

Debra Rose writes:

Due to the nature of why this bill was introduce, I find it to be very unbecoming of Riley Ingram to not support the Va. code and instead try to have it change for the benefit of one person.
This bill will not be cost effective to the sheriff dept.
My question tho, the bill states changed to any solid color, will Sheriff Anderson comply and paint the car in question to a solid color.

Debra Rose writes:

wrong info, car is grey with colored strips
