Description
Supplementing compensation of public defenders. Permits counties or cities that have public defender offices to supplement, payable from their own funds, the compensation of the public defender or his deputies or employees in excess of the compensation fixed by the executive director of the Virginia Indigent Defense Commission. Comments
The question is, are local jurisdictions willing to supplement compensation for public defenders. Enforcement? And last year, did not the Kaine adminstration pass a bill upwards of ~$15 million for extending compensation and raising cap fees on public defenders? Why is there no reference to that?
