I would be more ambitious than this proposed extension. It is my understanding that Metro will need another tunnel under the Potomac in ten years at the current increase in riders. How about a new line from the VRE station near Potomac Mills through the county government center and baseball park then across the reservoir to the Burke VRE station and then to Columbia Pike, Pentagon City, 14th Street, ...
