Marsha Maines writes:

Since so many of Va's citizens have no moral foundation today, this is a valid subject to be taught in the public schools. Good Job Jill!

LARRY writes:

Just more meddling by the state. We don't need to tell people what to do or how to do it with private property.

Tim McCormack writes:

Don't be daft, Larry, this bill has nothing to do with private property.

Are you against humane and ethical treatment of animals?

DrMink writes:

Why are we encouraging children to exploit animals for their own personal gratification?

Seriously, you do know this is PETA in disguise. The use of the term "companion" animal instead of "pet" is always the first clue. I'd just as soon keep them out of the character building business.

Waldo Jaquith writes:

Legislation is written by the Department of Legislative Services, and the terminology that they use (such as "companion animal") is the terminology that is dictated by state law.
