Description

Humane investigators. Restores the humane investigator program to its pre-2003 status. In 2003, the law was amended to limit (i) the number of humane investigators to those currently serving and (ii) the number of programs to those currently in operation. The 2003 bill allowed those appointed prior to July 1, 2003, to be reappointed for three-year terms. This bill removes the limitations placed on the program by the 2003 law. Read the Bill »

THIS IS A PERFECT WASTE OF GOVERNMENT MONIES. THE ANIMAL CONTROL WILL NOT EVEN COME OUT IF A FOX IS REPORTED, A RACOON, SKUNK. MOST OF THEM ARE SO FAT THEY CANNOT PASS A RUNNING TEST. BY CREATING ANOTHER OFFICE, THE FUNDS ARE BEING TAKING AWAY FROM "CHILD CARE FOR WORKING MOTHERS", AMERICANS ARE ALWAYS GOING TO HAVE PETS, EITHER FOR WORKING, OR COMPANIONS. HOW IS YOUR AGENCY GOING TO LOOK AT COMPANION DOGS WHO DO THERAPY WORK FOR THE DISABLED. BY PUTTING A PRICE TAG ON ETHIC BREEDERS IS NOT IN THE SAME BALLPARK AS PUPPY MILLS.PUPPY MILLS PRODUCE IN QUANTITY AND "IT IS THEIR LIVELY HOOD" ETHIC BREEDERS DO SO TO IMPROVE THE BREED, THEY ARE SHOWN IN COMPETITION TRIALS, IT IS NOT A BUSINESS. MOST OF THE INDIVIDUALS WHO CAST THEIR VOTE, EITHER DO NOT HAVE DOGS OR HAVE NO USE FOR THEM. BY PUTTING ALL THE RESPONSIBILITY ON THE VETERINARY STAFF TO OBTAIN RABIES SHOTS IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE ANIMAL OWNER, WHO IS POLICED BY AKC, CKC, UKC, AND PARENT BREED CLUBS. YOU DO NOT NEED ANOTHER BUDGET ARENA TO SPEND MORE OF THE PEOPLES MONIES, WHEN YOU ARE SUPPOSE TO HAVE THIS IN PLACE TO SERVE THE PUBLIC.

It's moot; the bill has already failed in committee.
