Description
Tolls for use of Interstate Highway System components; disposition of revenue; motor fuel tax rate reduction. Requires the Commonwealth Transportation Board, on and after January 1, 2010, to impose and collect tolls for use of all Interstate Highway System components in Virginia. All such tolls shall be collected electronically. Tolls are to be set by the Commonwealth Transportation Board so as to generate $1 billion annually, half of which is to be deposited into the Highway Maintenance and Operating Fund, with the remainder to be deposited into the Transportation Trust Fund. Effective January 1, 2010, the bill also reduces the motor fuel tax rate by five cents per gallon. Read the Bill »
