Description

Check cashers; customer identification; penalty. Requires persons conducting business as check chasers to obtain identifying information from the customer, including a copy of an identification card, photograph, thumbprint, and copy of the item cashed, for every transaction. Records for each transaction are required to be retained for a period of one year and made available to law-enforcement officials. A violation of these requirements is a Class 1 misdemeanor.
