A BILL to amend the Code of Virginia by adding a section numbered 17.1-275.12, relating to local clerk's fee.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That the Code of Virginia is amended by adding a section numbered 17.1-275.12 as follows:

17.1-275.12. Additional local fee.

In addition to the fees set forth in 17.1-275.1, 17.1-275.2, 17.1-275.3, 17.1-275.4, 17.1-275.5, 17.1-275.7, 17.1-275.8, and 17.1-275.9, the clerk may assess a local fee of up to 10 percent of the total fees charged at the same time fees in such sections are assessed. All fees collected under this section shall be retained by the clerk for use in the operation of the clerk's office.
