Senator Hanger: We have asked for three years that you simply recognize that short-term rentals are permissible and are residential. Please make that change to the bill so that we can get something passed. We are tired of dealing with this same stupid issue. Work with us, please. If you don't work with us, you will fail again. How many times do you need to be defeated before you start to listen to us?
Why are we continually going after short term, vacation rentals Senator? What is that is pushing you to continue this? This is a bad idea!
At a time when the State is cutting funding for teachers and police, it is a good idea to collect every bit of tax money that you can that does not put more of a burden on Virginia taxpayers. Thank you for looking out for those of us who actually live here and vote here. Keep up the good work, Sen. Hanger.
Senator Hanger,
Customers of Houses that are rented by the days should pay the same taxes as customers of hotels and motels. Those who oppose this tax are trying to avoid having their customers pays their fair share of the taxes that are needed to avoid laying off public sector employees such as educators and police officers.
This is not a tax increase. It is simply requiring all of those who rent facilities on a short term basis to pay the same tax.
Senator Hanger I applaud your insight.
Thanks.
