Has this been a problem?

David Wright writes:

Yes, our former governor Tim Kaine served as chairman of the DNC while simultaneoulsy serving as governor.

Vivian Paige writes:

And our former governor, Jim Gilmore, served as chairman of the RNC while simultaneously serving as governor.

Waldo Jaquith writes:

Though whether it was actually a problem is tough to suss out. I didn't see any problems result from Gilmore or Kaine taking on those roles, though obviously opponents of each thought it was problematic at the time.

L.L. writes:

I do wish Kaine hadn't sort of had one foot out the door, though. Think a couple balls got dropped. Maybe this bill is a good thing (much as I hate to say it).

robert legge writes:

I'm not sure they thought it was problematic. They just thought they could get some political mileage out of it. I really think it will be a while before a VA gov. is offered this, let alone agrees to take it on. This is probably one bill that we can get along without.
