A BILL to authorize the Pittsylvania County School Board to set the school calendar for the 2010-2011 school year so that the first day students are required to attend school may be before Labor Day.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1.  § 1. Opening of the 2010-2011 school year in Pittsylvania County.

Notwithstanding the provisions of § 22.1-79.1, the School Board of Pittsylvania County may set the 2010-2011 school calendar for the Pittsylvania County school division so that the first day students are required to attend school shall be one week prior to Labor Day.
