Description
Local cigarette tax. Authorizes each county in the Commonwealth to impose a local cigarette tax at a rate not to exceed the rate of the state cigarette tax, which is $0.30 per pack (based upon 20 cigarettes in a pack). Currently, Arlington and Fairfax are the only counties that may impose a local cigarette tax, and at a rate not to exceed the rate of the state cigarette tax. Read the Bill »
