Description

Health insurance; multiple employer welfare arrangements.  Exempts multiple employer welfare arrangements (MEWAs) that are comprised only of banks and a plan-sponsoring organization, and their respective employees, from the provisions of the Commonwealth's insurance laws. Currently, such an exemption applies to MEWAs comprised of banks and their employees. A plan-sponsoring organization has the same meaning as a "bona fide association" under the provisions of Title 38.2 (Insurance) that apply to the offering of the essential and standard plan in the small employer market. The term "plan-sponsoring organization" includes any subsidiary of such an association. Read the Bill »
