Description

Transient Occupancy Tax; Brunswick County.  Adds Brunswick County to those localities authorized to impose a transient occupancy tax not to exceed five percent, with any excess over two percent to be spent solely on tourism. Most counties have some kind of transient occupancy tax (Lodging tax). Any jurisdiction can impose a 2% TOT by right. Or with the enabling legislation they can have up to 5% with 3% earmarked for tourism promotion.
