Description
Enforcement of federal immigration law by the Commonwealth and its political subdivisions. Provides that no agency of the Commonwealth, political subdivision of the Commonwealth or locality, or an employee of any of them acting in his official capacity, may limit or restrict the enforcement of federal immigration laws to less than the full extent permitted by federal law. VACOLAO opposes this so-called anti-sanctuary legislation that would undercut the ability of local police departments to have policies that protect immigrant victims and witnesses to crime from routine inquiries about their immigration status
I oppose this bill, and as a Virginia UU stand for the basic human rights of all people, regardless of their origin.
I hope too that there will be more public forums that discuss the role that free trade and foreign policy play in immigration to our country.
We need more education on the larger economic forces at play in immigration.
