What is the difference between a veteran rated 100% and 90% disabled? To exclude all other disabled veterans except those rated 100% is unacceptable. Here is how the legislation should have been written. For a veteran with a disability rating of 10-100%, real estate taxes will be exempt to correlate with the disability rating. For example, a veteran with a 70% disability rating will be exempt from 70% of their tax obligation. Excluding the remaining disabled veterans from this legislation does not jibe with Virginia politians calling this the most military friendly state.
