Commending the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office Eastern Loudoun Station.

 

Agreed to by the House of Delegates, March 27, 2012

 

WHEREAS, the Loudoun County Sheriff?s Office Eastern Loudoun Station, which has helped to decrease crime in eastern Loudoun County since its opening, will hold its second annual open house on May 19, 2012; and

WHEREAS, the Loudoun County Sheriff?s Office strives to preserve, protect, and defend the citizens and property of Loudoun County through the fair and impartial enforcement of the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia and the ordinances of Loudoun County; and

WHEREAS, Eastern Loudoun Station is one of four planned stations for the Loudoun County Sheriff?s Office and the agency?s first stand-alone station; and

WHEREAS, Eastern Loudoun Station opened under Sheriff Stephen O. Simpson and Captain Ricky Frye; it is currently commanded by Sherriff Michael L. Chapman and Captain Allen Gabrielli; and

WHEREAS, over the past two years, crime in Loudoun County near the Eastern Loudoun Station has decreased, with aggravated assault cases down 54 percent, burglary cases down 50 percent, auto theft down 37 percent, and larceny down 28 percent; and

WHEREAS, the Loudoun County Sheriff?s Office has partnered with Virginia State Police to implement the Virginia State Police Help Eliminate Auto Theft (H.E.A.T.) program, which educates citizens on how to prevent vehicle theft and trains local law-enforcement officers and provides support to them in the form of equipment and promotional materials; and

WHEREAS, the Loudoun County Sheriff?s Office Eastern Loudoun Station will hold its second annual open house on May 19, 2012, welcoming community members who will have the opportunity to hear a portion of Park View High School?s band, view Dominion High School?s Step Team, and have their faces painted by members of Potomac Falls High School?s Art Department; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That the Loudoun County Sheriff?s Office Eastern Loudoun Station hereby be commended for its service to Loudoun County; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the Loudoun County Sheriff?s Office Eastern Loudoun Station as an expression of the House of Delegates? appreciation for the station?s commitment to serving area residents.
