Board for Contractors; necessity for license; commissioning of public works of art. Allows a person to bid upon or undertake public works of art commissioned by the Commonwealth; a political subdivision of the Commonwealth, including any county, city, or town; or a nonprofit corporation exempt from taxation under 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code without being licensed or certified as contractor. The bill provides, however, that any related construction services offered or rendered in connection with such commission otherwise requiring a license shall only be rendered by a contractor licensed or certified by the Board for Contractors. Amends § 54.1-1103, of the Code of Virginia. Read the Bill »
