HR210: Commending the Christiansburg High School wrestling team.
WHEREAS, the Christiansburg High School wrestling team won its 12th team title in the Virginia High School League Group AA state championship in February 2013; and
WHEREAS, five of the Christiansburg Blue Demons advanced to the finals of the tournament, with Zach Epperly, Joey Dance, and J. R. Wert all winning their fourth consecutive individual titles; Coy Ozias won his third consecutive title and Gabe Lumpp also advanced to the finals; and
WHEREAS, the combined efforts of the wrestlers earned the Christiansburg High School wrestling team a total score of 158 points; the team won with an astounding 66-point margin; and
WHEREAS, ably led by head coach Daryl Weber, each member of the Christiansburg High School wrestling team contributed to the victorious season with hard work, passion, and determination; and
WHEREAS, the team’s success is also due to the dedication of the coaching staff and the enthusiastic support of the students, administration, and fans of Christiansburg High School; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That the Christiansburg High School wrestling team hereby be commended on winning its 12th team title in the Virginia High School League Group AA state championship; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Daryl Weber, head coach of the Christiansburg High School wrestling team, as an expression of the House of Delegates’ admiration for the team’s achievements and best wishes on future endeavors.
