Celebrating the life of David Martin Pearson.

WHEREAS, David Martin Pearson, an inspiring young man from Stafford County who touched the lives of countless individuals over the course of his life, died on May 11, 2012; and

WHEREAS, born on January 15, 1994, David Pearson brought great joy to his family and friends with his brilliant smile and kind spirit; and

WHEREAS, a hardworking student, David Pearson graduated from Stafford High School, where he was a member of the National Honor Society; and

WHEREAS, David Pearson took an active role in school activities, serving as manager of the junior varsity soccer team and participating with the Link Crew, which helps freshmen transition to high school; and

WHEREAS, when diagnosed with brain cancer, David Pearson focused on the needs of others, choosing to give his Christmas to other children in the area stricken with cancer; and

WHEREAS, David Pearson’s siblings, Austin, Kelly, and Katie, continue to honor and remember their brother’s thoughtful and generous spirit through monthly participation in David’s KIDS program; and

WHEREAS, David Pearson bravely fought the disease, continuing his school work and inspiring the formation of the Spotless Mind Club, a student-run organization dedicated to raising funds for brain cancer research; and

WHEREAS, an intelligent and sensitive young man who put the needs of others before his own, David Pearson leaves behind to cherish his memory his parents, Mark and Amanda; sister, Austin; stepparents Susan and Richard; stepsisters Kinsley, Katie, and Kelly; stepbrother, Briston; and numerous other family members and friends; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the Senate, the House of Delegates concurring, That the General Assembly hereby note with great sadness the loss of a young Virginian, David Martin Pearson; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the Senate prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of David Martin Pearson as an expression of the General Assembly’s respect for his memory.
