Description
Special education; multidivision online courses and virtual school programs. Requires each local school board to provide appropriate special education for each student with a disability who attends a multidivision online course or virtual school program in the school division that the school board provides through a contract with an approved private or nonprofit organization. The bill provides that, in the case of a student who is a resident of the Commonwealth but does not reside in the school division in which he attends a multidivision online course or virtual school program that the school board provides with an approved private or nonprofit organization, the school division in which the student resides shall (i) be released from the obligation to provide appropriate special education for such student and (ii) transfer to the school division in which the student attends a multidivision online course or virtual school program funds sufficient to cover the actual cost of any special education program provided the student.
