Description

False advertisement for locksmith services; penalty. Provides that any medium that publishes an advertisement by an unregistered locksmith for the provision of locksmith services after being notified by the Criminal Justices Services Board that such person is unregistered is guilty of a Class 1 misdemeanor and may be subject to a maximum civil monetary penalty of $2,500. Venue for a prosecution of this crime lies in the jurisdiction where the unlawful act occurs or where a member of the public accessed the advertisement. Read the Bill »
