I agree with the submission because real estate tax paying citizens need to know the actual $$$ change in their taxes, not just an assessment notice for the prior assessment(s). This bill will let tax payers see a trend in the real estate property taxes. I appreciate seeing legislation which help the tax payer better understand assessments and resulting taxes.
Get ready to be enraged. Most dont track or notice the increases much due to the mortgage company collecting and paying through escroll account. My taxes have almost tripled since 2005. They keep telling everyone that they are hurting cause values are going down but in real world they are still collecting over double. most of this is such BS cause the more they collect the more they find something to spend it one and then next year claim they have no money for schools. Then raise taxes for the children of course. Then repeat next year. In Va beach our mayor a couple years ago took 55 million from the school funds Then next year after go the schools to come out and say hey we are short 50 million so no after school programs, no buses picking up kids etc. Got all the kids and teachers and even many many parents crying for a raise in taxes for the children. bunch of crooks. They even trooted out kids in wheel chairs claiming a cut in those servise and even had speach impaired kids try to talk to tell everyone to raise the taxes for them.
