Description

Secretary of Public Safety; Secretary of Veterans Affairs and Homeland Security; transfer of certain powers and duties. Renames the Secretary of Public Safety as the Secretary of Public Safety and Homeland Security and reassigns duties currently assigned to Secretary of Veterans Affairs and Homeland Security relating to homeland security. The bill renames the Secretary of Veterans Affairs and Homeland Security as the Secretary of Veterans Affairs. The bill also incorporates portions of the JLARC report relating to improvements to Virginia's homeland security activities. The bill contains numerous amendments to accomplish this transfer of powers and duties. The bill contains an emergency clause. Read the Bill »
