POFEV: People of Faith for Equality in Virginia supports this important legislation, to allow institutions of higher learning as well as local governments to encourage employees to want to work for them as well as to help retain existing employees. This legislation would allow these entities to compete more equally in the job market, both with private employers who already offer benefits more equally and with other public entities outside Virginia. From our perspective, of equal importance is the value it allows these institutions to place on the God-given talents of their employees, thus doing honor to the employees, their families, and the Source of their creativity, ingenuity, dedication, and loyalty.
