Description

Hazing; penalty and institution policies. Increases the criminal penalty for any person found guilty of hazing, so as to cause bodily injury, any student at any school, college, or university from a Class 1 misdemeanor to a Class 6 felony. The bill also requires the policies of any public school or public institution of higher education to be consistent with model policies established by the Department of Education or the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia, as applicable, and directs such agencies to establish such model policies.
