Description
Stormwater fees; exemptions for religious groups. Requires the State Water Control Board, in establishing a statewide fee schedule for stormwater management programs, to waive permit fees for land-disturbing activities undertaken on property owned by certain churches, religious associations, or denominations. The bill also requires localities to waive stormwater management program service charges for properties owned by such organizations. Read the Bill »

Comments
The Secular Coalition for Virginia opposes this bill because it further privileges religious groups over that of non-religious groups. If the General Assembly wants to give religious groups a pass on taxes or fees then the bill should be extended to include all non-profit groups.
