Description
Standards of Learning assessments; waivers. Requires the Board of Education (Board) to waive the Standards of Learning assessment requirements for high school students who have taken an Advanced Placement or International Baccalaureate examination in the same subject area, except in the case of Standards of Learning assessments that are required for the purpose of state or federal accountability. The bill also requires the Board to provide for the award of verified units of credit to high school students who have achieved a satisfactory score on an Advanced Placement or International Baccalaureate examination in lieu of a Standards of Learning assessment in the same subject area.
