Description

Broadband Advisory Council; membership. Changes the membership of the Broadband Advisory Council (the Council) by (i) removing three nonlegislative citizen members: one citizen representative from the Virginia Telecommunications Industry Association and two at-large members and (ii) adding one member of the House of Delegates, one member of the Senate, one nonlegislative citizen member who is a representative of small Internet service providers, and the executive director of the Center for Rural Virginia as an ex officio member. The bill also directs the Division of Legislative Services to provide additional staff support to legislative members serving on the Council. The bill contains technical amendments. Read the Bill »
