Description

Firearms; restoration of rights; venue. Permits a person prohibited from possessing a firearm because of a felony conviction or a juvenile adjudication of delinquency of certain offenses to petition any circuit court where his felony conviction or adjudication of delinquency occurred for restoration of his firearm rights. Under current law, the person is only permitted to petition the circuit court in the jurisdiction where he resides. This bill is a recommendation of the Virginia Criminal Justice Conference.
