VIRGINIA ACTS OF ASSEMBLY -- CHAPTER
An Act to amend and reenact § 46.2-345.1 of the Code of Virginia, relating to veterans identification card; definition of "veteran."

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That § 46.2-345.1 of the Code of Virginia is amended and reenacted as follows:

§ 46.2-345.1. Veterans identification card; fee.

In cooperation with the Department of Veterans Services and the Department of Military Affairs, the Department may issue veterans identification cards. The fee for the issuance or replacement of such cards shall be $10. Veterans identification cards shall not be special identification cards as provided for in § 46.2-345.

For the purposes of this section, "veteran" means (i) a Virginia resident who has served in the active military, naval, or air service and whose final discharge or release therefrom under honorable conditions or (ii) a Virginia resident who has served honorably for greater than 180 days in the Virginia National Guard or the reserves of the United States armed forces.

The veterans identification card shall not be used for determination of any federal benefit.
