Description

Organ donation; mandated choice. Requires the Department of Motor Vehicles to require each applicant for a driver's license or an identification card to indicate whether he is willing or unwilling to make an anatomical gift and further requires the Department to work with the Virginia Transplant Council to ensure that such mandated choice requirement is designed to encourage organ, tissue, and eye donation with a minimum of effort on the part of the donor and the Department. Current law requires the Department to allow such applicant an opportunity to designate his willingness to make an anatomical gift. Read the Bill »
