Description

Possession or distribution of marijuana for medical purposes; cancer. Provides an affirmative defense in a prosecution for the possession of marijuana if the marijuana is in the form of cannabidiol oil or THC-A oil possessed pursuant to a valid written certification issued by a practitioner of medicine or osteopathy licensed by the Board of Medicine for purposes of treating cancer or alleviating such patient's symptoms. The bill provides that a practitioner shall not be prosecuted for distribution of marijuana under the circumstances outlined in the bill. Read the Bill »

A SIMILAR BILL PASSED THIS BODY LAST YEAR AND IT WAS DEALING WITH THE TREATMENT OF EPILEPSY, SO THIS YEAR, WHAT SENATE BILL 343 DOES IS IT PROVIDES AN AFFIRMATIVE DEFENSE IN THE POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA IN THE FORM OF CAN'T BIN IDENTIFIED OIL OR THC OIL POSSESSED PURSUANT TO VALID WRITTEN CERT CAD ISSUE BY A PRACTITIONER OF MEDICINE LICENSED BY THE BOARD OF MEDICINE FOR PURPOSES OF TREATING CANCER OR ALEVATING SUCH PATIENT'S SYMPTOMS.
