Description

Localities towing fees. Provides that localities in Planning District 8 shall establish by ordinance (i) an initial hookup and towing fee of at least $135; (ii) an additional fee of at least $25 for towing at night, on weekends, or on a holiday; and (iii) that no fee pursuant to clause (ii) shall be charged more than twice for a tow. Under current law, $135 is the maximum hookup and initial towing fee and $25 is the permissible charge for towing at night, on weekends, or on a holiday. Read the Bill »

[Unknown]: HOUSE BILL 1060 A BILL RELATING TO LOCALITIES TOWING FEES REPORTING FROM THE COMMITTEE ON TRANSPORTATION. THE SENATOR FROM GREY SON. DEALING WITH THE LOCALITIES IN PLANNING DISTRICT 8 THAT HAVE ORDINANCES AS FAR AS HOOKUP AND TOWING FEES. THIS BILL BASICALLY REQUIRES ARE RINGTON COUNTY WHICH IS THE ONLY CONSIDER ARLINGTON COUNTY WHICH IS THE ONLY VIRGINIA COUNTY NOT TO RAISE THE TOWING FEE TO $135 WHICH IS THE STATEWIDE CAP, AND IT IS RUNNING OTHER BUSINESSES AROUND THEM OUT OF BUSINESS. AND I THINK I WILL HAVE SOMEONE TOW THIS GENTLEMAN'S CAR AWAY. IT CHARGES THE SAME AMOUNTS AND KEEPS THE CAP AT $135.
