Friends of Accotink Creek writes:

I am writing to convey the concerns of Friends of Accotink Creek, based on our understanding that the Stormwater Local Assistance Fund (SLAF) is zeroed out in the Governor's Budget.
The Stormwater Local Assistance Fund provides matching grants to local governments for implementation of stormwater best management practices that address reduction of water quality pollutant loads. Fairfax County received approximately $4.5 Million in funds in Fiscal Year 2015, with an additional half Million provided to Fairfax City. This is critical funding for localities working to improve the quality Virginia waterways and the Chesapeake Bay.
The Friends of Accotink Creek encourage a budget amendment providing $50 Million annually for the Commonwealth in the next two years (2016-2017).
Please let me know if there is anything we can do to restoration of SLAF funding.
Thank you very much.
