Description

Regulation of X-ray machines. Expands the authority of the Department of Health (the Department) to regulate X-ray machines to include all such machines; under current law, the Department is authorized to regulate those X-ray machines used in the healing arts. The bill also requires the Department to adopt regulations for qualifications and registration of private inspectors of X-rays and X-ray machines. Read the Bill »

PRESIDENT, THIS BILL DOES A NUMBER OF THINGS NOT THE LEAST OF WHICH IS UPDATE THE CODE AND INDICATES FOR THE X-RAY MACHINES HOW THAT THEY WILL BE INSPECTED AND THE PROCESS TO WHICH WE WILL GO THROUGH THE REGULATION. THIS BILL DOES NOT UNDO THE COPN REQUIREMENTS FOR THE MACHINE. JUST UPDATES THE CODES. I HOPE WE WOULD PASS THE BILL. THE QUESTION IS SHOULD HOUSE BILL 1273 PASS. ALL IN FAVOR OF THE MOTION WILLS AYE, THOSE OPPOSED NO. ARE THE SENATORS READY TO VOTE? HAVE ALL THE SENATORS VOTED? DO ANY SENATORS DESIRE TO CH ANGE THEIR VOTE? THE CLERK WILL CLOSE THE ROLL.
BILL TO AMEND AND REENACT SECTION OF THE CODE OF VIRGINIA RELATED TO REGULATION OF X RAY MACHINES. THIS IS THE BILL HAS TO DO WITH INSPECTORS OF X RAY EQUIPMENT. THE FIRST IS TECHNICAL. THE SECOND ONE, THERE ARE APPARENTLY OUT OF STATE AND INSTATE PRIVATE INSPECTORS. ALL OF THE OUT OF STATE GUYS HAVE FEES. AND SO I HOPE WE'LL ACCEPT THIS SENATE AMENDMENT.
