Description

Uniform Child Custody Jurisdiction and Enforcement Act; exclusive, continuing jurisdiction. Provides that the Commonwealth has exclusive, continuing jurisdiction to modify a child custody order that is subject to the Uniform Child Custody Jurisdiction and Enforcement Act (UCCJEA) so long as a parent of the child continuesto live in the Commonwealth. Under current state law, both parents must reside in the Commonwealth for the court to retain exclusive, continuing jurisdiction. The bill conforms the law to the UCCJEA. This bill is a recommendation of the Boyd-Graves Conference. Read the Bill »
