Commending Augusta Health.

WHEREAS, Augusta Health, a community hospital in Fishersville with a long tradition of excellent patient care, was honored in 2015 as one of America’s 50 Best Hospitals by Healthgrades Operating Company, Inc.; and

WHEREAS, as one of the nation’s best hospitals, Augusta Health is ranked in the top one percent of hospitals in the country for overall clinical excellence for its variety of treatment options and medical procedures; and

WHEREAS, the mission of Healthgrades is to help consumers find the right doctor and the right hospital; each day more than one million people use the online site to obtain comprehensive information about physicians and hospitals; and

WHEREAS, since 1994, the compassionate, highly trained staff of Augusta Health have continued a tradition of personalized care that began more than 50 years ago with predecessor hospitals in Waynesboro and Staunton; and

WHEREAS, to be named one of America’s 50 Best Hospitals by Healthgrades, a hospital such as Augusta Health must show that it provides overall clinical excellence relating to patient care and procedures for a minimum of seven consecutive years; and

WHEREAS, Augusta Health has consistently been named an outstanding health care facility by Healthgrades; for three years, it earned the organization’s Distinguished Hospital Award for Clinical Excellence, and it also was named a top 100 hospital for three years; and

WHEREAS, Mary Mannix, president and chief executive officer of Augusta Health, attributed the hospital’s signature recognition from Healthgrades to a culture of excellence and the hard work and dedication shown by all of the hospital’s staff and volunteers over many years; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly hereby commend Augusta Health community hospital for being named one of America’s 50 Best Hospitals by Healthgrades Operating Company, Inc.; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Mary Mannix, president and chief executive officer of Augusta Health, as an expression of the General Assembly’s respect and admiration for its continuing commitment to providing excellent health care to the people of Augusta County and the Commonwealth.
